I loved that – writing scenes that I’ve been imagining for soooo long. When all those threads and scenes I’ve had in my head for so long finally happened. Getting to write Wrath was like present-opening time. It’s been a part of my life for over fourteen years. Bittersweet is a word I’ve used a lot when thinking or talking about finishing the Faithful and the Fallen. And very strange to not be thinking about the next part. It feels exciting, fantastic, a little bit terrifying. There are a lot of emotions tied up in it. Finishing WRATH, and with it, the whole Faithful and the Fallen series, has been quite a moment for me. (LH): Firstly, congratulations on wrapping up your first series, John! How does it feel? John joined me over on Fantasy-Faction at the end of 2016 to celebrate the release of Wrath, the fourth and final novel of The Faithful and the Fallen. Book one, Malice, won the Morningstar Award for Best Debut in 2013, and since then the series has received more and more praise with each instalment. John Gwynne’s novels have been nominated within all three categories at the David Gemmell Legend Awards.
